Supporting the Conversation Around Indigo Alert in Saskatchewan
Autism Services of Saskatoon recognizes the importance of a timely and coordinated response when an autistic person or another vulnerable individual goes missing.
Some autistic individuals, particularly those who are non-speaking or have communication differences, may face additional risks and may not be able to ask for help or communicate important information in an emergency.
We welcome the current conversation about an Indigo Alert system in Saskatchewan and believe it is important that the voices and experiences of autistic individuals, families, service providers, and other community partners are included as this discussion moves forward.
